No hope

A stones throw away
From going and throwing it all away
I've courted, second thoughts of the price
Mine affected would it touch another life
Sure family but they have to show tears
Outside affected but how deep would it pierce
Ive been down a slippery slope
Lined with ice, I jumped on was never provoked
Blindfolded, led to an altitude to choke
Just a troubled sole, thrown down the darkest hole
No bearings given no rope, no light at the top, no sense of hope

easy street carnival of writing and art: 9th edition

I time for time try to get my poetry out and about I try to use different methods to try and get the most people reading my stuff. Recently I got email from a carnival which I entered for poetry. If you do not know about blog carnivals they can be a great way to get yourself out, the site is   . Well anyway one of the carnivals I entered i recently got a reply which went

"Congratulations! Your piece has been chosen for the ninth edition of the Easy Street Carnival of Writing and Art, posted here:

http://easystreetprompts.blogspot.com/2010/05/easy-street-carnival-of-writing-and-art_30.html" .

Now I thought I would just post a little thank you to http://easystreetprompts.blogspot.com, it really means a lot to have my work appreciated by other people thanks

We ran the race

I ran the race sitting in the stands
In a fans place but we were almost hand in hand
Stride in stride, I was with you not by your side
But there was no finish, well not one we wanting to come
But I stayed with you until the race was done
My friend, my buddy, brother with no blood
To watch you end the race, made me swell up
Return to sender, I'm a man so I refuse to cry
Just a shame gender ain't known to the eye
So we ran the hurdles and jumped the fence
But your finish, signalled the end to our events
